What To Expect
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect to have fun! There is nothing more exciting than brushing away the sandstone to reveal a beautifully preserved dinosaur tooth or bone. Success is guaranteed.
Triceratops teeth are by far the most common dinosaur fossils you will find. The other dinosaur and associated fossils you can find belong to Champsosaurus, Myledaphus, Pachycephalosaurus, Leptoceratops, Edmontosaurus, Nanotyrannus, Tyrannosaurus rex, Nodosaurus, Struthiomimus, Thescelosaurus, various raptors, multiple species of fish, multiple species of crocodiles, salamanders, frogs, multiple species of turtles, mammals, plant fossils, and who knows what else. That new to science fossil could be just under the surface.
Dry desert conditions, hot weather, sudden thunderstorms, rattlesnakes, and biting insects are some of the less pleasant conditions that can be expected. While we will do our best to accommodate, shade structures, restrooms (portable units or more primitive structures), and cell phone service may not always be available.
FOSSIL PREPARATION SERVICES
Half of the fun is digging your very own dinosaur fossils. The other half is being able to enjoy the finished product on display in your home. For a $70 an hour rate we will stabilize, prepare, restore (if needed and wanted), and identify your fossils.
